The Mental Health Service User Engagement Project is managed by CVS Medway and funded by NHS Medway and has been in existence since August 2009.
MHSUEP aims to provide opportunities for mental health service users, past and present, to share their views about mental health issues including mental health policy, strategy and service provision. With the groups permission these views can be represented to others, e.g. mental health commissioners and service providers with the aim of improving services available. As service users have firsthand experience of Medway’s mental health services, they are best placed to provide feedback and express any views or concerns about the services that they have received.
The Project aims to play an important role in mutual support, combating stigma, supporting recovery meaning people no longer require the services, and participating in local service planning and development.
